The 5th Tamil month is Purattasi month and during this month, the sacred 9 days called as "Navarathri" comes and all these 9 days are dedicated to Ambal, Sri Lakshmi and Sri Saraswathi who are called as "Tri-Sakthis". The first 3 days are dedicated to Ambal; the next 3 days for Sri Lakshmi and the last 3 days for Sri Saraswathi.

During these 9 days, grand utsavams are done in various temples; Bhakthas keep "Golu" in their house inviting the Goddess.
